There are a few things you can do, with little or no cost, to improve the look and marketability of your home. These things will help make a better first impression on potential buyers:

The front of your home is the first thing a buyer sees. Spruce up landscaping, pull weeds, clean up debris, etc.
Inside, a coat of fresh paint can do wonders for appearance. Soft, neutral colors show much better than bright or dark colors.
For a showing, burn candles, place potpourri throughout the home. Try not to cook strong-smelling foods just before a showing.
Make the home bright; open blinds and turn on lights.
Remove clutter to open up rooms. Let buyers imagine their things in the space.
Clean out closets to make them look bigger.
Call a handyman to help with projects to get your home ready to sell.
